CBC presents new ammunition technologies for Defense and Security Forces at LAAD 2025

CBC, a Strategic Defense Company with nearly a century of experience in both domestic and international markets, a global leader in ammunition and a traditional manufacturer of long guns, is participating in LAAD Defence & Security 2025, showcasing several innovations for the security and military sectors, in addition to its renowned product portfolio.

The exhibition, the largest and most important in the Defense and Security sector in Latin America, takes place from April 1 to 4, 2025, at Riocentro in Rio de Janeiro.

Reinforcing its commitment to delivering high-quality solutions and cutting-edge technology for those seeking reliability and superior performance, CBC is announcing during LAAD 2025 its latest premium ammunition development for professional use: the 2nd Generation Bonded.

Using advanced electroplating technology, the lead-antimony core undergoes an electrochemical bath, where the copper jacket is uniformly deposited, resulting in better penetration consistency and maintaining over 99% mass retention in direct shots. The projectile’s expansion capability ensures efficient kinetic energy transfer to the target, maximizing effectiveness in defense scenarios. Aligned with strict FBI protocols, it achieves a balanced combination of optimal expansion stability and appropriate penetration.

CBC is also presenting new rifle and machine gun caliber versions of its frangible ammunition under development: 7.62x51mm, 5.56x45mm, .300 Blackout, and .308 Win, with .40 S&W also in progress. Meanwhile, the .223 Rem and 9mm calibers are already certified and ready for immediate commercial availability.

SinterFire, a U.S.-based company that is part of the CBC Global Ammunition group, manufactures the world’s most widely used lead-free frangible projectiles. These are produced from a proprietary copper-tin composite and undergo a heat treatment process developed by the company. Upon impact with hard surfaces, the frangible projectiles disintegrate into small particles, reducing the risk of ricochet.

Another key innovation includes the 7.62x51mm and 5.56x45mm JHP Law Enforcement Ammunition. Designed for controlled entry in urban environments, JHP ammunition significantly reduces the risk of overpenetration, minimizing collateral damage during engagements.

Its technology enables controlled fragmentation upon impact with solid surfaces, eliminating risks and providing greater safety for both operators and surroundings. It is effective for both direct and indirect fire, ensuring versatile and reliable performance under a variety of operational conditions. This innovative solution meets the increasing demands of defense and security forces and is ideal for scenarios with high collateral risk.

For high-precision applications, CBC is introducing the Sniper .308 Polymer Tip round, available in 125gr and 168gr projectile weights. Designed for sniper use, it ensures high accuracy over long distances.

The Sniper .308 Polymer Tip features a polymer insert that enables rapid expansion and high energy transfer, minimizing the risk of target overpenetration. Its boat tail design reduces drag during trajectory, allowing the projectile to maintain velocity and energy over longer distances — making it ideal for direct precision shots.

In addition to these innovations, CBC is also showcasing its comprehensive range of “CBC by Sinterfire” frangible ammunition and over 130 types of ammunition across various calibers and projectile configurations.
